Senate Bill 171 – Assembly Floor Vote

NVFAC PAC Strongly Opposes SB171

Sponsored by Senators Harris, Spearman & Doñate

Overview:

If Senate Bill 171 is passed, individuals convicted of committing, or attempting to commit, certain crimes, including non-violent crimes, could lose their gun rights. The vague and ambiguous definitions used in this bill could strip the constitutionally protected Second Amendment rights of countless individuals. A law-abiding citizen could lose their Second Amendment rights for calling someone by the “wrong” gender pronoun.

SB171 was heard in a joint meeting of Senate & Assembly Judiciary Committees. The bill was passed from the Senate on a party line vote and passed by the Assembly Judiciary Committee. It is now waiting on a vote in the Assembly
